3 hospitals using virtual reality for preoperative, intraoperative neurosurgery

Here are three hospitals that have incorporated virtual reality into neurosurgery procedures.

Pediatric neurosurgeon Kurtis Auguste, MD, adapted virtual reality to plan procedures at University of San Francisco Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. Surgical Navigation Advanced Platform, developed by Surgical Theater, allows surgeons to navigate through the patient's brain using virtual reality.

As the credentialing coordinator, there are many times when the department is called upon to ensure a tech and reader are admitted to a hospital in order to assist a surgeon with a last-minute surgical case.
